This maternity photo session in Georgetown, Texas had all the magic: a joyful toddler, golden Texas light, a glowing mama in a blue floral dress—and even a birthday to celebrate.

We met just outside Liberty Hill, Texas, with the wildflowers blooming and the sun playing peek-a-boo through the trees. The almost-2-year-old showed up ready—like, let’s-get-this-party-started ready. And I was here for it.

Her giggles? Contagious.
That bump? Glowing.
The energy? Pure joy.

But this session wasn’t just about the photos. It was about a mama, days away from meeting her baby boy, finally getting the maternity portraits she didn’t get the first time around (her daughter came 3 weeks early!). It was about slowing down and honoring this sacred season of becoming a mama again.

And oh, did we celebrate.

What I Observed: From a Liberty Hill Family Photographer

This mama’s spirit was radiant. She wore the most gorgeous blue floral dress from Abercrombie & Fitch, and it moved with her like a dream. She looked effortlessly beautiful—and y’all, she showed up on her birthday for this shoot. She told me she couldn’t think of a better way to spend her day than capturing these memories. (Excuse me while I tear up real quick.)

Her daughter, nearly two and full of sunshine, was absolutely thrilled to be part of the fun. I always send my families a prep guide before our session, with my number one tip being: bring a high-value treat for your little one. But guess what? We didn’t need it for her! She was ready to pose, dance, twirl, and snuggle her mama—all with a joyful spirit that made my job so easy.

Dad was incredible too—relaxed, present, and happy to let mama shine. They were the sweetest trio and soon, they’ll be a family of four!

As a momma of two little ones, almost 3 months old and 2 years old, I know how precious these moments are. Your love grows beyond measure – the love you have for your first expands to your second, and you learn to love more than you ever knew was possible!
